The ViaXML Northwind server components are delivered as Active Server Pages (ASP). While a detailed discussion of ASP is outside of the scope of this article, in Brief, ASP allows you to incorporate scripts written in VBScript into Web pages. When pages containing these scripts are requested through IIS, the scripts are executed on the server. The result is then returned to the requesting client.
